A Small Light focuses on Miep Gies, a twentysomething woman working for Otto Frank during World War II. When Otto asks her to hide his family from the Nazis, Miep agrees without hesitation. Alongside her husband Jan and other helpers, she protects the eight people in hiding in the Secret Annex for over two years. It is Miep who discovers Anne's Diary after the arrest of those in hiding and keeps it safe until Otto Frank can retrieve it, ultimately leading to its publication as one of the most powerful accounts of the Holocaust.
