Abigail Leslie returns to Baypoint, her past scandals echoing ahead of her. A woman unapologetic about her desires, she sets her sights on familiar prey: a lonely tomboy pining for her brother, a repressed housewife harboring secret lesbian tendencies, and a troubled married couple, Abigail's former lover among them. Meanwhile, her presence stirs memories in the quiet fishing village of Howe's Landing, where she left years ago after being caught with Gordon Howe by his wife Priscilla. Abigail, sexually liberated and predatory, seeks revenge but finds herself igniting a season of sexual liberation and emotional healing instead. One by one, she seduces Priscilla, her friends Lila and Tracey, the local incestuous fisherman Chester, his sister Alice Anne, and even Priscilla's aunt Drucilla.
