Historia
In 'Depraved', a disillusioned field surgeon, Alex Hart, suffering from PTSD after his experiences in the Middle East, becomes obsessed with creating life outside of conventional means. He begins an experiment in his Brooklyn loft, sewing together various body parts to form a living human being. This creature, named Adam, comes to life and initially displays childlike innocence and curiosity. However, as time passes, Adam's behavior becomes increasingly erratic and violent, reflecting the dark nature of Alex's own psyche. As Adam begins to kill those around them, Alex must confront the reality of his actions and decide whether to destroy his creation or let it continue its murderous rampage.
Resumen
'Depraved' is a modern reimagining of Mary Shelley's classic novel 'Frankenstein', set in present-day Brooklyn. The film explores themes of creation, responsibility, and the consequences of playing god through the lens of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Directed by Larry Fessenden, known for his work in independent horror, 'Depraved' offers a macabre take on the Frankenstein story, with a focus on character development and psychological horror rather than overt violence. The film serves as both a critique of modern society's desensitization to violence and a cautionary tale about the dangers of unchecked ambition.
