Argumento
In 1570, Oribela, a young orphan girl from Portugal, is sent to Brazil to marry Francisco de Albuquerque, an older sugar beet plantation owner. Despite Francisco's love for her, their marriage is strained due to his rude nature and the peculiar household he shares with his mother and sister. Oribela struggles to adapt to this new life and tries everything to escape.
