The rock vocalist Viggo is released from prison after serving eight years. As he navigates his return to society, Viggo's memories of his past life flood back through songs and flashbacks. He remembers Vivian, a young female drug addict with whom he had a complicated relationship, and Torbjørn, their keyboard player friend. Vivian was drawn to both Viggo and Torbjørn, causing tension within the band they once played in together. Tragically, Viggo's memories culminate in recalling that he killed Vivian.
