Historia
In the final years of the Edo Period, Asagiri (Yumi Adachi), a popular prostitute, looks forward to her impending freedom from indentured service. During a local festival, she crosses paths with Hanjiro (Yasushi Fuchikami), a young artisan who captures her heart for the first time. Their love blossoms until fate intervenes through Hanjiro's client (Kanji Tsuda). Historical circumstances tied to this client lead to tragic consequences that alter Asagiri's destiny.
