Historia
In Biarritz, Irene descends to the hotel bar while her elderly partner sleeps. She mistakes Jean, a barman, for a wealthy guest and spends the night with him in the Royal Suite believing he's affluent. A year later, she meets Jean again under similar circumstances but this time her lover finds out about their affair and disowns her. Despite learning that Jean is merely a barman, Irene continues living luxuriously until his money runs out. Jean then becomes involved with older and experienced Madeleine in Irene's business. Throughout, Irene also maintains a relationship with another paramour while she and Jean remain closely connected.
