Historia
In Barcelona, 1913, Dr. Leon Pardo, a psychiatrist, leaves his pregnant wife Alma suddenly and inexplicably. Leon has recently returned from Vienna where he was influenced by Sigmund Freud's theories on hysteria and sexuality. Alma discovers that her brother-in-law Salvador, also a psychiatrist but more conservative than Leon, harbors feelings for her. They find clues in Leon's manuscript about four patients: an actress with persecution complex, a psychotic woman who tried to kill her husband, a woman questioning her sexual identity, and one with a secret past. Together, Alma and Salvador embark on a quest to solve the mystery of Leon's disappearance while navigating hypnosis, love, danger, and taboo subjects.
Resumen
In 'Inconscientes' (2004), directed by Joaquín Oristrell, a complex web of mystery, romance, and psychology unfolds in early 20th century Barcelona. The film centers around Alma Pardo, whose husband Leon suddenly vanishes while she is about to give birth. Leon, a psychiatrist influenced by Sigmund Freud's theories on hysteria and sexuality, leaves no clear explanation behind. Alma's brother-in-law Salvador, also a psychiatrist but more traditional in his methods, becomes involved in the search for Leon while grappling with his secret feelings for Alma. As they delve into Leon's manuscript detailing case studies of four patients, Alma and Salvador navigate a labyrinthine journey filled with hypnosis, forbidden love, danger, and societal taboos.
