Historia
Dottore Joe Moretti is a conman who travels around Sicily offering screen tests to aspiring actors for money or favors, claiming he works for big Roman studios. Beata, an illiterate young girl from a convent, becomes infatuated with him after one of his visits. She sees it as her chance to escape her simple life and falls in love with Joe. Despite initially exploiting Beata, Joe eventually develops genuine feelings for her. Their relationship flourishes briefly until Joe's deceptions catch up with him, leading to his arrest.
