Historia
Dottore Joe Moretti is a conman who travels around Sicily offering screen tests to aspiring actors for money or favors, claiming he works for big Roman studios. Beata, an illiterate young girl from a convent, becomes infatuated with him after one of his visits. She sees it as her chance to escape her simple life and falls in love with Joe.
