Resumen
Lapwing (2021), directed by Philip Stevens, is a historical drama-thriller set in rural England during the reign of Queen Mary I. The film explores themes of isolation, obsession, and cultural intolerance through the story of Patience, a mute young woman living under the control of her brother-in-law David. After David agrees to help an Egyptian family who must temporarily reside on their land due to the harsh 'Egyptian Act,' tensions rise within their community. The arrival of outsiders serves as a catalyst for David's unraveling mental state and Patience's defiance, leading to a dramatic confrontation between them.
