Argumento
The movie 'Le bonheur' follows François (Jean-Claude Drouot), a man living in a small village near Lyon with his wife Thérèse (Marie-France Pisier) and their two children. The film opens with François leaving for work each morning, kissing his sleeping family goodbye. One day, he meets Madeleine (Bleu Emeraude), a woman who sells paintbrushes door-to-door. They begin an affair, which François keeps secret from his family. Meanwhile, Thérèse discovers she is pregnant again. Eventually, Thérèse finds out about the affair and confronts François. Despite his promises to end things with Madeleine, he continues seeing her secretly. When Thérèse discovers this, she leaves him, taking their three children with her. The film ends with François alone in his house, still working as a painter.
