Historia
In 1922 Quebec, Claudine Perreault has raised her son François with the intention of him becoming a priest to gain God's forgiveness for their illegitimate child status. However, François rebels against this plan at age 17. In a fit of rage, Claudine strikes him severely on the head, causing him to lose his hearing. After Claudine's death, François begins a relationship with Amica, a young woman he buys from an Innu peddler.
Resumen
Le torrent is a Canadian historical drama directed by Simon Lavoie and released in 2012. The film centers around François Perreault, who lives with his strict mother Claudine on a remote farm. Claudine's desire for François to become a priest leads to tension between them. After an altercation where Claudine hits him, François loses his hearing.
