Historia
In an enchanted forest during the time of the Druids, shepherd Céladon and shepherdess Astrée share a pure and chaste love. Astrée believes Céladon has died after he throws himself into a river in despair when she dismisses him due to the deception of another suitor. However, he is secretly rescued by nymphs and lives under their care. Faithful to his promise to Astrée never to appear before her again, Céladon must navigate numerous obstacles to lift the curse that keeps them apart. Disguising himself as a woman to remain close to Astrée, he faces rivals and temptations while trying to reveal his true identity without breaking his oath.
Resumen
Directed by renowned filmmaker Éric Rohmer in 2007, 'Les amours d'Astrée et de Céladon' is a romantic comedy-drama set in an enchanted forest during the time of the Druids. The film explores themes of love, betrayal, and redemption through its central characters, Astrée and Céladon, whose relationship faces numerous challenges. Rohmer employs his signature storytelling style to present a modern take on the classic French pastoral novel 'L'Astrée' by Honoré d'Urfé.
