In Marseille during World War II, 15-year-old Denis finishes his third year at a Jesuit college. During a hospital visit, he meets Sister Clotilde, a young nun whom he finds attractive. However, the mother superior becomes suspicious of their relationship and advises them to separate. Unable to resist their passion, Denis and Clotilde run away together to spend the summer at her family's property in Haute-Loire. Their happiness is short-lived as societal taboos and the war catch up with them upon liberation.
Resumen
Les mal partis (1976) is a French film directed by Sébastien Japrisot, based on his novel of the same name. The movie blends drama, comedy, and romance to tell the unconventional love story between Denis, a teenage boy, and Sister Clotilde, a young nun. Set during World War II in Marseille, the film explores themes of forbidden love, societal taboos, and the consequences of defying expectations. Although it is considered part of the 'nunsploitation' genre due to its depiction of a nun in a romantic relationship, Les mal partis offers a more nuanced exploration of its characters and their motivations.
