Historia
In a small village in a valley everyone who reaches the age of 70 must leave the village and go to a certain mountain top to die. If anyone should refuse they would disgrace their family. Old Orin is 69. This winter it is her turn to go to the mountain. But first she must make sure that her eldest son Tatsuhei finds a wife.
Resumen
In secluded Narayama village, a harsh tradition holds sway: villagers who reach 70 must ascend Mount Obi to die, sparing resources for younger generations. To refuse brings family shame. This winter, Orin, aged 69, faces her final journey. Before ascending, she's determined to secure a wife for her eldest son, Tatsuhei, ensuring his future and hers won't overlap in hardship.
