Down-on-his-luck trumpet player Nate Poole has a one-night stand with Happy Shannon's wife in Reno. Happy's gang abducts Nate to kill him but he is saved by Indians and ends up at Sam Adamo's sideshow, where he meets Lily Luster, an angel with wings.
