The film 'Pianist' follows sisters Jean and Amy during their family reunion on Vancouver Island. The story jumps back and forth over the last decade, revealing that both sisters had a lifelong crush on Yoshi, their former neighbor who was a talented pianist during their high school years and has since become world famous. While Amy is eager to see him again at his concert in Vancouver, Jean seems uninterested. It's revealed that Jean had sexual encounters with Yoshi over the years, much to Amy's devastation, as she had chosen to move to New York City for a possible relationship with him. The film explores themes of sibling rivalry, wrong life choices based on youthful fantasies, and whether they will finally meet Yoshi again.
