Argumento
In 'Puhdistus', set in Estonia in 1992, Aliide Truu, an older woman haunted by her past actions during Stalin's era and the deportation to Siberia, finds a young woman named Zara on her doorstep one night. Zara has escaped from the Russian mafia who held her captive as a sex slave. Aliide discovers that Zara is related to her, sparking a complex relationship between the two women. As they begin to trust each other, their pasts start to unravel, revealing a tragic family drama of rivalry, lust, and loss that unfolded during Estonia's Soviet occupation.
