StartUp follows Izzy Morales, a banker in desperate need of money after losing his job due to the 2008 financial crisis. He turns to Nick Talman, a Haitian-American gang lord who wants to go legit but owes a debt to his former boss, Ron Perine. Izzy and Nick team up with Alberto 'Albert' Ruiz, a Cuban-American hacker with an idea for digital currency that could revolutionize the future of money. Together, they unwittingly create their version of the American dream, involving organized crime and a new cryptocurrency.
