Upon examination, they discover a finger inside the victim's stomach belonging to Norbert Günzel, a convicted rapist and assailant who becomes their primary suspect. As Schrader and Minks delve deeper into the case, they find disturbing evidence at Günzel's residence: restraints, human flesh, video equipment, and preserved skin with tattoos in his basement, along with dead bodies buried in his garden.
