Paul Yeager arrives in New Orleans and starts working as a bartender at La Cage du Verre, a show bar owned by the sadistic Marko. His former girlfriend Jacqueline works there as a dancer and is also Marko's moll. Paul soon finds himself involved in smuggling diamonds and drugs with Jacqueline, while Detective Montrachet is on the take. However, Paul isn't undercover; he just wants to win Jacqueline back. Meanwhile, his CIA pals are hoping to arrest Marko's boss. When Detective Montrachet discovers Paul's past as an ex-CIA agent, she sets up a double cross for unclear motives: to get back with Paul, stay with Marko, or run her own scam.
