Argumento
During World War II, Lily, an English seamstress from London, marries Charlie, a Canadian soldier stationed in Britain. Soon after their wedding and the birth of their daughter, Charlie is deployed to fight in the war. Lily and her newborn are invited to move to Charlie's family farm in Alberta, Canada. However, life there proves challenging as Lily struggles with the isolating rural environment and finds herself at odds with her husband's kin. The film follows Lily's adjustment to her new life while she awaits news of Charlie's fate.
