Leslie Harter Zemeckis, born Leslie Harter, is a renowned actress, author, and documentarian known for her work in unearthing and celebrating the stories of marginalized female entertainers from early 20th-century America. She has written several books including 'Behind the Burly Q', an oral history of burlesque, and 'Goddess of Love Incarnate'; the Life of Stripteuse Lili St. Cyr'. Her latest book, 'Feuding Fan Dancers', explores the lives of Sally Rand and Faith Bacon during the golden age of showgirls. Zemeckis has presented her work at various panels, universities, museums, and festivals, including MoMa and Burlesque Hall of Fame.
