Maria Elena Bello was born on April 18, 1967 and began her acting career with small off-Broadway plays such as 'The Killer Inside Me', 'Small Town Gals with Big Problems', and 'Urban Planning'. Her big break came when she was cast as Mrs. Smith in the spy show 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith' by producers Kerry Lenhart and John J. Sakmar.

Jerry Stahl (Ben Stiller), a successful television comedy writer, struggles with an escalating heroin addiction that threatens his career and personal life.
