Yvonne Hung Yung, born in Hong Kong, moved to Beijing alone at age 13 with a dream of becoming a dancer. She graduated from the Dance Department of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts but had to abandon dancing due to excessive strain on her psoas. After winning Miss Asia in 1989, she began acting and appeared in TV dramas like 'Looking at the Present' and 'The Best Talent', promoted by Asian TV.
