Argumento
The story begins with Eric, a Dutch sculptor, reminiscing about his past love through a sculpture he created of her. In flashback, we see him meeting and falling in love with this young woman, whom he later marries. Her parents, especially her shrewish mother, disapprove of their relationship due to Eric's bohemian lifestyle. The couple faces various challenges, including petty jealousies and sexual encounters that strain their marriage. In a climactic scene, these tensions lead to a dramatic event involving vomiting.
