A drop of sweat from a stranger man changes the life of teenage Alice, protected so far by a prudish mother from access to moisture, which causes the fruit to become covered with mold, and the girl's head to be haunted by disturbing dreams.
Resumen
The short film Alicja (2022) follows a teenage girl who lives under the strict, obsessive gaze of her mother. In their world, moisture is a dangerous force that causes fruit to mold instantly, symbolizing a fear of corruption or maturing. To "protect" her daughter, the mother keeps Alicja in a sterile, dry environment, shielding her from anything that could trigger a change. However, Alicja's controlled reality shatters when she comes into contact with a single drop of sweat from a stranger. This encounter triggers a surreal sensory awakening, as her mind fills with new thoughts and desires that her mother can no longer suppress, serving as a bizarre metaphor for the transition into womanhood.
