She began her acting career at a very young age, performing in theater by the age of six and making an early television appearance on the popular children's show Die Sendung mit der Maus. At 17, she moved to New York City to study acting at the Herbert Berghoff Studios, later continuing her training at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in Los Angeles, London, and New York.
Stevens gained significant recognition in the mid-1990s and early 2000s, particularly for her lead roles in films directed by Ralf Huettner. Her breakthrough came with the erotic thriller Der kalte Finger (1996), followed by her most famous role as Cora Hübsch in the 2001 romantic comedy Mondscheintarif (Moonlight Tariff), based on the bestseller by Ildikó von Kürthy. Throughout her career, she has remained a versatile performer, appearing in numerous German television series such as SOKO Köln, Tatort, and Alarm für Cobra 11 while also maintaining a secondary career as a singer.
