Historia
In 'The Living Daylights', James Bond (Timothy Dalton) is tasked by M to facilitate the defection of a top Soviet general, Georgi Koskov (Jeroen Krabbé), who claims that the KGB plans to assassinate foreign spies to provoke an international incident. When Koskov is re-captured, Bond suspects foul play and investigates why an ally of Koskov was sent to kill him. His investigation leads him to Afghanistan where he discovers a scheme involving arms dealer Brad Whitaker (Joe Don Baker) supplying weapons to both sides of the conflict for profit. Bond teams up with Koskov's mistress, Kara Milovy (Maryam d'Abo), who is also a cellist, and together they navigate through Bratislava, Vienna, and Tangier as they try to expose the conspiracy.
Resumen
'The Living Daylights' (1987) is the fifteenth film in the James Bond series and the first to feature Timothy Dalton as the suave British spy. Directed by John Glen, the film is set during a time of political tension between the West and the Soviet Union. The story centers around a planned defection that goes awry, leading Bond on a mission through Eastern Europe and into the heat of the Afghanistan conflict. While the plot involves arms trafficking, assassination attempts, and double agents, it also introduces a more emotionally vulnerable side to Bond with his connection to Kara Milovy. With its Cold War backdrop and exploration of Bond's personal life, 'The Living Daylights' offers a unique blend of action, intrigue, and character development.
