Full Biography
Anke Engelke, born in Montreal in 1965 and raised trilingually, began her career early as a dubbing artist and host of TV and radio shows. She rose to prominence with Ladykracher, considered Germany's most successful sketch format. Since 2000, she has appeared regularly in films and TV series, notably leading roles in 'Mein Sohn, Der Onkel', 'Mutter', 'Das letzte Wort', and 'LOL - Last One Laughing'. Engelke is also known for voicing characters such as Marge Simpson and Dory in Finding Nemo. She served as host of the Berlinale from 2003 to 2019, co-hosted the German ESC preliminary round in 2011, and taught television dramaturgy at KHM Cologne from 2012 to 2017. Additionally, she is an ambassador for action medeor since 2003.
