Her notable film appearances include 'The Fox' (1967) with Sandy Dennis, which sparked controversy due to its lesbian themes. In the 1970s, she starred in several Italian giallo-type thrillers like 'Le monache di Sant'Arcangelo' (1973). After a decline in her career during the 1980s, Heywood's penultimate role was on the U.S. TV series 'The Equalizer' (1988) as Manon Brevard Marcel. She retired from acting after appearing in the TV movie 'Memories of Manon' in 1989 and resides in California.
