Christine Kaufmann, born January 11, 1945 in Lengdorf, Styria (now Austria), began her acting career at age seven in 'Im weißen Rößl' (1952). She gained international recognition with roles alongside Steve Reeves ('The Last Days of Pompeii', 1959) and Kirk Douglas ('Town Without Pity', 1961). Kaufmann won a Golden Globe for New Star Of The Year - Actress in 1961, the only German to do so. She married Tony Curtis in 1963, with whom she had two daughters; they divorced in 1968. Post-divorce, Kaufmann resumed her acting career and became a successful businesswoman, promoting cosmetics products and writing books on beauty and health. She speaks German, English, and French.
