Arletty was born on May 15, 1898, and passed away on July 24, 1992. She was a French actress known for her role as Francoise in 'Le jour se lève' (1939). In the film, Francois, a sympathetic factory worker, kills Valentin after he seduces Francoise, a young fleurist with whom Francois is deeply in love.
