Cassidy Civiero is a Canadian film director and screenwriter with a focus on content related to mental health, gender and sexuality. He utilizes experimental filmmaking techniques to create heightened imagery which aligns with his values and identity. His voice was developed through his off-beat short films: Return to Nature (2024), Ethical Consumption (2023) and Self Care (2022). His documentaries, Unhappy Sexy Girl (2025) and Needle Tips (2025), explore his own triumphs and tribulations with an unwavering commitment to be unabashedly raw with his audience. In the series' space, Cassidy is a writer and co-executive producer for the show You're My Hero (2023-) on CBC Gem. Above all, he is a tenacious dreamer and film addict who believes anything is possible, both in life and on screen.
