Courteney Cox (born Courteney Bass Cox on June 15, 1964) is an American actress, director, and producer. She gained significant recognition for her role as Monica Geller in the NBC sitcom Friends (1994-2004), earning seven Screen Actors Guild Award nominations and winning one. Cox also starred as Gale Weathers in the horror film franchise Scream (1996-present) and has had notable roles in TV shows like Family Ties, Dirt, and Cougar Town. She owns Coquette Productions and has directed episodes of Cougar Town and films such as TalhotBlond (2012) and Just Before I Go (2014).
