Dirce Funari, born in Italy, starred as Emanuelle in 'Suor Emanuelle' (1977). The film follows her character's struggle with religious and sexual identity after being tasked to mentor a free-spirited young woman, Monica. Emanuelle, having renounced her past life, finds herself questioning her dedication to service when faced with Monica's wild ways and advances from an escaped killer hiding in the convent.
