India Shaw-Smith is a British actress born on December 1, 1994, in Oxfordshire, England. Classically trained at the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), she has built a diverse career spanning theater, film, and television. Shaw-Smith gained significant international recognition for her breakout role as Viridia in the 2025 STARZ original series Spartacus: House of Ashur, portraying a complex Roman noblewoman caught in a world of political intrigue and brutality. Her television credits also include appearances in high-profile productions such as the Disney+ Star Wars series Andor (Season 2), ITV’s Vanity Fair, and the CW's Supernatural. On the big screen, she took on the lead role of Penny in the independent feature The Pines Still Whisper. A versatile performer, Shaw-Smith is equally established on stage; in late 2025, she received critical acclaim for her portrayal of the title character in Jane Austen’s Emma at the Theatre Royal Bath and on its subsequent UK tour. Beyond acting, she is a skilled equestrian and soprano singer, and she remains active in the British entertainment industry through her own production venture, Shaw Thing Entertainment.
