Katsuko Nakamura is a Japanese actress known for her work in international cinema, particularly in French and Belgian productions. She gained critical recognition for her leading role as Yoshiko Mahiru in the film Le pays du chien qui chante (2002), for which she won the Best Actress award at the Festival des Cinémas du Sud. Nakamura frequently portrays complex characters in dramas that explore cultural and social themes; notably, she played the role of "L'amie d'Omar" (Omar's friend) in Nicolas Provost’s acclaimed 2011 film L'envahisseur (The Invader), a gritty exploration of the immigrant experience in Brussels. Her filmography also includes roles in Anne Fontaine's Nouvelle Chance (2006) and the sci-fi drama The Third Part of the World (2008). A versatile performer, she is also trained in traditional Japanese singing and is fluent in Japanese, English, and French.
