Mimi Langeland was born as Mila Jovanović on August 10, 1974, in Belgrade, Serbia, to a family of Serbian descent. She started her acting career at the age of 15 when she appeared in her first television commercial. Her breakthrough role came in 2003 with the movie 'Shelter Island', where she played the lead character alongside her real-life partner, Kika Magalhães.
