Born as Monica Rose Engesser on February 18, 1983, in the small town of Spring Valley, Minnesota, Monica Engesser is an American actress known for her work in independent horror and thriller films.
Growing up in the Midwest, she initially pursued degrees unrelated to acting at the Franciscan University of Steubenville before moving to Memphis, Tennessee. It was at the University of Memphis that a whim to take an "Intro to Theatre" elective sparked her passion for the craft.
Standing at 5'11", Engesser has noted that her height often led to unique roles, frequently being cast as creatures or supernatural figures early in her career. She gained significant recognition for her role as Kirby in the survival horror film Breakdown Lane (2017) and has starred in other notable genre films such as The Covenant (2017) and Krampus: The Reckoning (2015).
